About me

I started this diary to have a way to communicate the experience of being a person dealing with mental illness. I’m high-functioning with a fairly good prognosis, and my psychiatrist trusts me to be able to monitor my symptoms and get help or change my medications accordingly. This makes me fairly unusual. What this statement doesn’t reflect is how difficult it can be, for myself and for my family and friends, when I’m struck with an episode. I would like this blog to reflect both the good times and the bad, and take some of the stigma away from discussions of mental illness.
